"I'd been thinking of the records I love in which people made one 'song' that took up the entire LP, and realizing that releasing something like this would otherwise be a virtual impossibility for me, I became excited when the Nike+ project came along."
why? surely if he wants to he could do that?
that would really piss me off as I am never going to pay for just an mp3.
79p for 45mins
even if it were that price and £5 in the shops for the vinyl or CD I'd buy it in the shops. Buying mp3s just feels wrong to me.
find the idea of whoring yourself to Nike a bit shit?
But I haven't heard anything from LCD since their album; therefore, I care not in which format it arrives, as long as it does arrive.
is possibly the worst thing possible
I don't quite have the Bill Hicks view but at least pick a compnay with a better human rights records James, jesus christ. I'm glad I never actually got round to buying the LCD record now. Amazing live, mind.
Nike have been part of pop culture since the 1980s. Nike are approached as much as they approach.
It's not as if any other company would even consider the idea of an LCD Soundsystem record.
It is sadly iTunes only which is irritating. Still, I might have to give in if everyone says it's worth it.
Thats the price as an album.
Fuck that for one song!
or such. I am in no way paying £7.99 for an mp3. I would easily pay that for a real copy but no way like this. It wouldn't be that difficult to release on CD or vinyl, would it? Even limited edition like the fantastic DFA Holiday Mix last year. Enough people would buy it surely?
not paying for this, downloading now
a blog i can download it?
The song's very good in points. It's very very unlike his other stuff or even unlike other DFA stuff. It's going even more towards some of the ZE Records late 70s disco stuff. It's good. Some of the stretched out ambient bits aren't too fun if you're not running or doing something else but it's a good set of sounds.
I haven't had any private messages for a while.
the record label (DFA, right?) gets right for it back in 6 months and can release it however they want.
