it was so good, i really enjoyed myself. oh, except for the french metaller with long red hair who insisted on throwing it in my face. luckily, given the nature of the gig, i was able to shove him away :)
some people went to see my chemical romance last night!!!
Was a tight set
as well as my usual standing next to Mike Diver, i also stood next to MIKE SKINNER OF THE STREETS FAME.
Until he left five songs in.
the sound is really bad, it's off my phone, but it's fun to watch :)
bassist from A! (now of Matt Willis)
instead. He was ace, and he got everyone to give a shout out to Deftones, which was nice of him. I was on the train back with some My Chemical Romance fans as well as a man being sick. Lovely. (Possibly due to seeing the My Chemical Romance fans, I'm not sure)
Didn't see the Timbelake cover coming
though I did feel a bit shortchanged - they could have played longer and with an encore.
But opening with Knife Party and Shove It - lovely stuff
wot justin song was it?
I agree , funny end to the night.
i wasn't sure, i thought i was making it up! it was SexyBack!
But it did work didn't it? (it's not just me)
we were looking for you!
my friend would like to have relations with you
that wasn't so good, bludy Londoners
covered sexy back???
more or less
i just went though the ones i recorded on my phone and it wasn't in any of those...
it was quite random.
cant remember which one, but chino just sang the timberlake lyrics over it, wasnt a straight cover
was it Root?
turns out i had recorded it
They didn't play Shut up and drive did they?
which is a relly big shame, but lets face it they could have played a whole second night of classics with the material they left out:
be quiet and drive
pink maggott ...(if you will)
...plus some new stuff like rapture, the Earth and the really good ones i am yet to hear...
left me a bit deflated - the set was great but missing them out put a big hole in my night.
Reminded me of a Lemmy interview i read a few years ago - over time he's grown to dislike playing 'ace of spades' but he knows you've gotta send the crowd home happy...
i kept moaning about it but people kept replying
"but they PLAYED my own summer"
i didn't understand
Show they played my favourite tracks off each album! KNife party and Root were soo good to hear and dropped in passenger as well albeit with the man Maynard but fuck i'm broken today somehow managed to have skin scraped off my arm mmmmmm lovely stuff :)
around the fur
and white pony
hole in the earth
engine number 9
and some more
Hole In The Earth sounded PHAT.
Fuck, that DOES sound good.
How'd the new stuff sound (did they even play any?)??
about the strongbow?!?!??!?
They only played Hole in the Earth & Beware but they were both fantastic. Sounded like they'd set the sound to make those tunes sound their best, anything with two guitars in sounded good but some of the other tunes (i.e. mostly the earlier stuff) sounded a bit odd - the vocals got pretty lost at times.
It was also very loud indeed - bass alone was strong enough to knock you backwards at times... guess it probably didn't help that we were right in front of the speakers though.
