god they didn't half go on
I found the gig fantastic! I can see what you mean though, the beat just didn't slow down. Older songs had been reworked to up the tempo and bring them more in line with The Warning's style. Personally I found that part of the charm, since I'm a sucker for when a band will put the effort into reworking their songs for the live environment to suit the surroundings rather than rehash what they (usually) already did better in the studio.
The sound was absolutely terrible for Junior Boys though, really felt for them. The bass and drums were overwhelming on music where essentially the bass & drums are secondary.
Also seemed a waste of a Fourtet DJ Set to a crowd who really weren't there for any reason other than to film "Over And Over" and "Boy From School" on their low-quality mobile phone cameras to post to Youtube the moment they got home so they can link it to their Myspace account they've spent waaaay too much time constructing so it can sit there like a shitty I-was-at-the-Hot-Chip-gig Scouts badge that doesn't even deserve the justification "you had to be there" since they might as well have not been.
I feel your pain. I saw Bloc Party at the Barfly a while back and people actually left once they'd played Banquet.
