Across The Tracks is shit but can find the odd bagain. Rounders is probably the best.
edgeworld is the best.
Rounder for indie - easily. It also loads of dance and hip hop stuff in there but that side of the store scares me so I don't know if the selection is any good.
Edgeworld is bets for noise and more obscure stuff. It also has a pretty ace Americana selection. Plus it has very few CDs. Bonus.
Across the tracks is just cheap but is good for more obvious releases.
Borderline is great for old soul and reggae records.
Resident only does CDs (booo) but is freindly and sells tickets.
And thats just the few I know fairly well, there are plenty more specialist shops which may be excellant. Does anywhere lese outside London have so many record stores? Its not even a very big town.
but Manchester is something like 8 x as big as Brighton. I bet on a per head ratio Brightons is something silly.
like to bet.
I have in the world.
is in the North Laine area at the end of Kensington Gardens. I might have the road wrong. Its near the Basketmakers Arms anyway so if you don't find a record you want you can have a decent pint.
but only bought a copy of Plan B.
There was so much i wanted in there that i felt like weeping. Remind me not to go "window shopping" for records anytime soon.
any time soon
i went in a flea market today though and found an early Aphex Twin single for 50p. i like Brighton.
where's Edgeworld? I'm crap with names.
above that crap clothes shop
