I haven't heard 'Human Animal' yet but I've heard nothing but good things. See also:
Hair Police- 'Constantly Terrified'
Yellow Swans- 'Bring The Neon War Home'
and most of the ATP Nightmare Before Xmas line-up
i'll get on to checking them out :D
Wolf Eyes members have countless side projects and the like, and there's tonnes of tiny limited releases out on a regular basis.
I think "Human Animal" is the 5th Wolf Eyes album of the year or thereabouts, although it is my favourite. The live recording of them playing with the saxophonist Anthony Braxton "Black Vomit" is essential though.
Dead Machines are John Olson of WE and his wife Tovah from the Vanishing Voice, and they've put out loads of great CDRs and cassettes lately. Their record with John Wiese (sometimes of Sunn O)))) called "Failing Lights" is great, it's far dronier than Wolf Eyes but just as terrifying.
Hair Police is another side project, they're more rooted in hardcore and free rock, so everything sounds like a more lo-fi "LA Blues". "Constantly Terrified" is my favourite.
If you like Hair Police you'd probably like Lambsbread, who only seem to put out CDRs and cassettes of 50 copies or so in handmade packaging.
Burning Star Core works with Wolf Eyes members lots and i guess he sounds like Faust. Beautiful yet ugly drones and oddness.
There's the earlier noise stuff like Whitehouse and The New Blockaders that's probably more extreme than anything ever recorded.
I don't know why i bothered typing so much when i could have said "Browse Volcanic Tongue" really.
