We're listening to it.
I'm currently listening to Godspeed.
it's on the record player in my heart.
as well as atmosphere by russ abbot, but i can't help that.
but i may do. all together now...
teeeenage angst has paid off well, but now i'm BORED and OLD
I don't to be a twatty pedant, but I am.
the first two tracks are SO good
one of those free London newsapers, the only three good Nirvana songs are Smells Like Teen Spirit, Oh The Guilt and Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle.
Obviously he's more of an expert than you, so I assume you'll be revising your opinion now.
"Lets get this straight - Nirvana were glorified one-hit wonders. Smells Like Teen Spirit was a freak, albeit a wondrous, magical one. They only wrote two more decent songs - Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle (from In Utero) and Oh, The Guilt (a limited edition split single with Jesus Lizard).
Don't worry, like many of you, I had my head turned by the hyperbole. But now we can be dispassionate and admit Nirvana were not only not much cop but their influence on pop has been mainly pernicious."
I'm glad you kept it, I'd forgotten about it.
The man was an eejit. Wasn't he claiming that Nirvana are responsible for 'the emos' as well?
"You can blame all those wretched "emo" bands on Nirvana. There are armies of kids who believe that a guitar and a persecution complex makes them an artist. Well, they're wrong.
Ten million miserable black-clad kids - that is the extent of Nirvana's pitiful legacy."
Obviously indie rock didn't exist before 1991.
in that you might well not have mainstream angsty rock without nirvana
Creed would have made it big regardless.
nirvana were still wank, though
I think they were great.
very conciliatory response
your original comment didn't leave a lot to be discussed, did it?
he was right about 'frances farmer...' and at least that article seems colourfully bonnkers rather than many many dull repetitive things written about nirvana ever
The poor mans Tad
i always forget how ace it is.
I never forget how ace it is, but then you do think 13 is a great Blur album! :D
Still stuck on Joanna Newsom
ASHES OF THE WAKE
