Death Cab For Cutie/Radiohead inspired songs that I worked on with my friend George and a few acoustic demos.

Leave me alone.
is a fine song, whose lyrics appealed to me as a disgruntled fourteen-year-old
Playing a free gig at the Spotted Dog on the 29th, also supporting Settlefish with some other really good locals, Sunset Cinema Club and Magnetic Four, on October 9th at the Flapper.
Kate Goes are a great little band, if impossibly twee.
at the gig at the Flapper yesterday? Don't quite know what was going on there, but prehaps the promotor could explain it to me as I know he posts on this forum.
I wasn't there. What happened?
so while the guy promoting it was out getting some cash to pay the bands the gig was cut short or something.
Even so, £7 is a lot to pay for 5 minutes.
He only got to play for 5 minutes because the other acts overran. By this time the promotors had long since left the venue, leaving the poor guy to apologise to us from the stage. I wasn't impressed, having paid £7...
if it's a case of needing to exert a bit more limitation on the support acts or what, but Show & Tell are otherwise one of the best promoters doing stuff in Birmingham at the moment. And the Flapper seem really arsey about times, they did the same thing to Volcano! when they played, cutting their set short.
The police/council are keen to find reasons to shut down venues that are "alternative" in some sense and an excuse, over-running or underage admittance, will be taken.
It's up to the bands to get to the soundcheck early, do a complete good soundcheck, and know how long they have to play.
the last act only got on stage at about 10.55, so the pub was well within its rights. That said, I'll continue to show my support to these Show and Tell gigs because they're putting on lots of bands that I like. I just hope that this is a lesson learnt for them.
explain what being a support band is?
i was at Scruffy's to see Foals, and they went on there about the same time. They didn't get done until about twenty past, no problem with the venue. Besides, the Flapper's supposed to be going so it's not like it needs to be worried about losing much.
Also, i thought eleven o clock was only last orders, doesn't the entertainment licence run until punters need to be gone (about half eleven)? I'm asking, i don't know.
But police and coucil can do random spot checks whenever they feel like.
what do u mean?
New Order. On their brilliant debut album. Everything after...meh.
In case no one had mentioned it...I'm too tired to read through it all today.
You remember this one though:
But for these last few dayyyyys
