enjoy. Sorry for shaky cam, I was bopping along.
but remembering = ace :D what a lovely guy
he's so lovely.
Right, where should I start with Jetplane Landing?
Zero For Conduct (2001) is their first, been described as elliott smith meets pavement, it's got some quieter bits but also some louder bits. it was made before the band started touring and when they were still just a three-piece.
One Like A Spark (2003) is the second, and it's a lot heavier and angrier - most of their set from Truck was taken from it. it was made after they'd toured lots and the sound reflects that as they were songs written to play live as a four-piece.
i prefer the second one, but i saw them touring it 11 times (i think) and that included some of the best gigs i've ever ever been too, so that may be why.
anyway: http://www.smalltownamerica.co.uk/buy.php ;o)
yep, I did get all excited that I might be able to do a bit of jetplane landing related showing off, but untrip beat me to it.
Spectular band, and one (along with million dead) that made me fall back in love with music.
There's a good selection of JPL tracks on their myspace from what I remember too.
I thought they'd have a lot more than that. I may just get both then! I've loved This Is Not Revolution Rock (is that what it's called?) both times I've seen them.
that one came out on a 7" as well a few years ago. i have one somewhere, it has a pretty sleeve.
they're recording album #3 next month, should be ace judging by the new stuff they played at truck.
Wasn't it their first release ?
are fantastic. One of my favourite bands of all time and have been since I saw them at their first gig. They never disappoint with releases and I'm almost certain they haven't released a song that I don't like yet.
You all should check out Andrew and Jamie's old band Cuckoo. You can generally pick up a copy of their album Breathing Lessons for a quid or two on Ebay. Different singer and a different sound but still f*cking amazing 8 years on from it's release.
agree with you on that, johnny. Jetplane Landing have never disappointed me either. Both albums, and the 'There Is No Real Courage, Unless There Is Real Danger' Ep are brilliant releases, and 'Acrimony' (the song that got me into them) is one of my all time top favourite tracks.
I am eagerly awaiting the 3rd album to see what they've come up with. It's been too long!
The new stuff sounds good, if truck is anything to go by.
although i think they were selling the album at gigs beforehand.
to find their first album here...
I got the album long before any of their singles came out.
ZFC was sold on mail order probably about a year before it hit the shops.
Remember the vido for arcimony, where the cameras were on the head stocks? So good, and nowhere to be found on the internet either.
the old Jetplane Landing website.
i'm not sure why it isn't on our youtube account though...
there's actually a few videos missing, i'll speak to andrew about putting a copy up there.
amazing. truly amazing.
where is the feel the noise video?
very soon. That is a promise. :)
