God this sounds good, Will Oldham = strings! But it works.
all over Soulseek
I'm logging on to get it now!
i got the single on 12" vinyl and its lovely. might wait for this though. the production team are also involved with bjork, thus from what i've heard it sounds similar to his contribution to the drawing restraint soundtrack (which i loved)
or for something a bit more lo-fi
there is no one what will take care of you
days in the wake
darkness is credited to bonnie prince billy, the second two to 'palace'
i also love the superwolf album he did with matt sweeney.
I'd go with I See A Darkness myself. That album has to be one of the most regularly played albums in my flat.
that's a lovely place to start.
I'm so excited about this new album - maybe he'll tour and I'll finally get to see him!
Start with Viva Last Blues by Palace or Ease Down The Road by BPB.
That is all.
Well peace and love.
It's just that I See A Darkness is regularly feted as the perfect Billy album by various chin-stroking muso mags, and to these ears at least half of it's a bit turgid.
about ease down the road.
What i'm sure we can all agree on is every Will Oldham album is very very good. Personally I like Days In the Wake best.
The Letting Go = very good, though i've only listened briefly.
