though, are brilliant.
Played Miss Machine on the Tube.
I wanted to tear limbs from strangers.
one of the greatest bands of recent years. Hope the new stuff pulls my brain out.
Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Etc etc.
Their new EP has a cover of that Justin Timberlake song on it. Only now it has ultra-powerful drumming.
try ion dissonance as well, specifically designed to make you grind your teeth. lovely.
love this album. it's so violent it kicks ficking ass as soon as you press play.
OH YES. I nearly blew my face off when I first heard panasonic youth.
i've just put it on and wanted to things which i wasnt quite sure would be allowed. it's staying on repeat for a LONG time! :-D
can we have a cage fight with d.e.p. as the soundtrack? listening to this album again has made me feel like I've been implanted with another 16 testes.
It would be a pleasure.
*Puts on ass kicking boots*
the hardcore bit of van damsel just kicked in. BRING IT BADBOY.
do you still want the nakedness and he oil to be involved?
then we could do a crouching tiger style fight to unretrofied.
setting fire to sleeping giants.
It's almost as good as We Are The Romans. Oooh!
Which one's better?
"YOU FUCKING PUNK ROCK PROSTITUTE"
"YOUUU FUCKING POOOOFF"
^^ Probably not the right lyrics, but they should be
is this Miss Machine different from Calculating Infinity? I'm not a fan of Calculating Infinity.. I'm not really sure why. this album has got me intrigued
There are more experimental breakdowns and intrumentation (some strings for example), even some songs- y'know, with choruses and everything. It's bloody good.
And agreed about Panoption. :)
but dillinger are so raw. so they're the best 'raw' album I own
"We Are The Romans" is better than "Miss Machine" imo and "Calculating Infinity" is better than "Miss Machine", make of that what you will.
I think its because "Calculating Infinity" is more raw and less metal/commercial than "Miss Machine".
Miss Machine is slightly more straightforward. Fewer jazz breakdowns. And the singer is, er, different - better in a conventional sense I guess. And he has no neck.
so i hear. Though you could be forgiven for thinking he wasn't as he looks like a condensed rhino.
The guitarist is definitely ridiculously smart. Degrees up the arse, I hear.
PS: After much deliberation I have decided We Are The Romans is "as good" as Miss Machine. I judge this on the basis of "how many times does your mouth drop open at a certain riff, prompting you to immediately rewind and listen to it again".
They're just a seperate entity, one that's more groovy, and a guitarist who tries far more new ideas and keep things interesting.
Not to say that I don't like Dillinger- they are true pioneers, and I love tearing walls down to their music, but I prefer Botch.
Botch do have more stone cold solid grooves - centred around polyrhythmic excellence - like at around 1 minute into the first track of We Are The Romans: You could nod your head to that forever.
Dillinger are more of a dizzying array of notes, time changes and rhythm kind of band - like at around 90 seconds into Clip The Apex - ridiculous shit.
Whatever I happen to appreciate more that day is the better band.
It should be mentioned that Meshuggah are a band who do both things excellently - should they therefore be classed as better than both Dillinger AND Botch?
