this is a reminder. 9am.
also, good luck.
Also, does he read this board to remind him when to go on? Still, I'm sure he'll appreciate your wishes :)
the cliqueyness often drives him to drink and drugs, falling off stage, long ranting stories and infections of the syneses. maybe if you lot would be a bit more accepting, we'd have a ryan thats a lot happier, and who would write more albums like rock n roll.
I'm AWAKE at this stupid hour to try and get some. Gigsandtours better not fuck up.
I will cry if it sells out in 2 seconds
There are so many touts out there now, EVERYONE wants to try it.
I remember Franz Ferdinand at the Apollo in 2004, there were about 10 sets of tickets online.
Now there's over 30 or so each gig.
I almost bought Richard Ashcroft tickets by mistake
it's my day off and i'm at my desk about fifteen minutes earlier than i would be if i was working just to get ryan tickets...
i am now in posession of tickets for:
cant get into any
I expected a long wait.
Took no more than 10 seconds, as I had all the stuff to copy and paste at hand.
What did confuse me is the message at the end: WE EXPECT TO DISPATCH YOUR TICKETS IN 0 DAYS.
took seconds for me too!
0 days means they dont know when they will send them.....
That's the best guys! Its devoted to Ryan and Ric Ashcroft right now.
couldnt get on seetickets, got straight through to gigsandtours
3 seated tickets for the saturday night london show. ace.
also rather annoyingly it didn't seem possible to book from 2 separate nights in the same order (or did i miss something?)
either way - i'm going to both london dats so i'm happy.
don't let you do that.
so i've just shelled out postage x 3.
i wished i'd gone to ticketshafter.
i'm spoiled most of the time cos a lot of the gigs i attend are on wegottickets or ticketweb - small b/f and no postage cos i print the ticket.
2 quid b/f @ gigs/see was a joke too.
i ordered five tickets in all for three different gigs, and it's going to set me back £140-ish.
the seetickets off - tho only after you get your tickets. ;)
i'll come with to help :D
Kylie sold out FAST
straight in for sunday standing - no problem at all...
Aren't gigsandtours and seetickets the same thing??
can someone provide me with the names of songs of his that are the best? Because I actually am GOBSMACKED that guntrip just bought tickets for three of the gigs. THREE! I would probably have done that for Radiohead circa '97 but even then it would be unlikely...
I've never heard anything by Ryan Adams that I thought was particularly special. I'm trying hard to make sense of this frothing madness about him.
the whole of Whiskeytown - Stranger Alamanac,
the whole of Whiskeytown - Pneumonia
the whole of Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker.
or if you can't be arse with that - come pick me up is here
a good starting place
like London have all gone already....
i have to agree with theogb, dont understand this devotion, everything ive heard has been MOR crap.
maybe im just not built right.
This 'come pick me up song' is okay, I suppose. It's hardly Shellac, though, is it?
No actually it's not 'okay', it's really quite trad and dull. Hmm. Clearly I am just not the Ryan Adams target audience at all.
because its awesome songwriting, like all his albums. hes an interesting person, hes prolific, and he writes good songs. no, its not especially original, but i dont think it matters, because its so well written.
yeah, its traditional; thats because he is (in theory at least) an alt.country artist. hes not attempting to do something thats never been done before; hes attempting to do it better than its been done before, and i think he succeeds.
anyway, i got two tickets for the manchester gig (although i dont have anyone to go with as of yet, i got it in case one of my mates realised how awesome he is, so if anyone misses out i might have a spare for this one... im feeling rather happy right now. i might get tickets for the nottingham one if i get more money before they sell out, or if they arent really silly money on ebay. its doubtful though. oh well, manchester will be amazing...
more eloquently than i could muster.
I don't think I can afford tickets for this right now, especially as I just spent money on BSP and Sufjan tickets.
I don't really go with this 'great songwriting' thing, though. I'd have said (for example) that Damien Rice is just as trad but that Volcano track is really good. This didn't seem to have anything to grab me.
Good lyrics (and I did appreciate Adams') is nothing like the same thing as good songwriting.
but i think as much as anything its about hearing the right song; for some artists, theres just one song that kind of make it clicks, then you start to fall in love with the rest of the stuff theyve done...
but then again, sometimes you just cant get on with an artist. it saddens me though when i see people who dont like ryan :p.
if you're ready for the country, because its time to go
um. he's very good you know. one of those people with problems, that you can relate to and stuff. a tortured genius? maybe. flawed, yes. try listening to 'The End' or 'My Winding Wheel' or 'Sylvia Plath'
The only one that has is 2 tiers in the London date.
I wish he'd played Bridgewater or something. I'd prefer to sit down to watch him.
for rock city so i can stand or sit, I've never seen him before, is it best to get a good view sitting on the balcony than standing right at the front? If is going to play the slower, acoustic stuff maybe i'm best sitting...
standing would have been silly.
this tour is with a full band. you should stand. itll be way better.
but i suspect he is doing the more normal 'gig' venues cos he's with the full band this time.
but i was too sick to get tickets.
