i can't find many.
metric have one of 'between the bars' on www.rollingstone.com today.
though i do like the song
would be the one on "motion sickness" by Bright Eyes, which is quite nice although i've never heard the original
dave house's cover of "say yes", which i like as it's very lofi and while he speeds it up he manages to not lose the desperation in the song. which is nice.
but i just heard one by metric! have you heard it sean?!?!?
up for download after his death, wasn't it?
i never downloaded that.
i can email you it if you rly want
by i thing Bad Astronaut?
it was ok
...and I can't really see how it'd work unless you did something completely different with one of his songs.
If someone did a straight version it might be pleasant but I can't imagine anyone 'improving' on an original.
I'm not sure I'd know an Elliott Smith song if it hit me in the chops. Apart from that Waltzy one.
That's my favourite one.
covered 'between the bars' on her last album. sadly not very well.
of needle in the hay that i think some his friends did at a tribute concert. it's not very good though.
cover too. I don't think people should be allowed to cover him!
that's what the internet tells me. has anyone heard it?
i believe it is called. i've not heard it though....
this was a thread for favourite songs that Elliott Smith had covered - my vote goes to Walk Away Renee.
Most of the stuff that used to be on Audio Galaxy is on there, my favourite being his cover of Lost Highway.
This site is rad too
I take it you have downloaded the Basement 2 demos?
I just realised you meant OTHER bands doing cover songs of Elliott Smith. That would be pretty horrible, much like Bloc Party and Bright Eyes covering Daniel Johnston.
very faithful cover aint it.
