I liked him.
The headlines. They're always like:
"PETE DOHERTY DIES".
(Today Pete Doherty fell over and grazed his knee.)
'Kasabian in split shocker'
'The Killers shock with new album news!'
(It will be recorded by the producer of their first album...)
but he was the talented one!!!!!!!
So now you're saying they're not talented?
LOL, you're funny.
i'm just saying in the Grand Scheme of Things it probably won't matter.
Now, if the article was "Kasabian lose copy of Xtrmntr by Primal Scream; stuck for ideas for new songs", there'd be something to worry about.
DiS hates all these good bands is because the users strive for originality. I admit, there's nothing original about Kasabian, but you've got to look at your own tastes.
The majority of the bands you've rated 10 9 or 8 aren't unique acts who don't sound like anybody else.
but the reason I dislike Kasabian is they're not very good.
Admittedly constant re-stating of their brilliance combined with Spinal Tap-esque bollocks in interviews doesn't help much either. But essentially if they wrote good songs I wouldn't care.
But, with 1 poss. exception I can't remember the name of, they don't write good songs so it's a complete non-issue.
it's just what i've heard of theirs was basically a soulless reinterpretation of the album i mentioned up there but with a shedload of arrogance.
soul > originality, and i do not see kasabian having much of the first.
I forgot to mention that Kasabian's music has no soul.
Mine are. I always strive for the most extreme example of a genre. That's why I only own five records. And to be honest I'm thinking of taking that Arctic Monkeys LP to Cash Converters. I'm just not feeling it anymore.
RE: Kasabian. They're on the cover of my TV guide this week. It said "Why Kasabian Became Heirs To Oasis". I was surprised to find the article wasn't just the words "Because like Oasis, they trade in mid-tempo guitar music and their albums get progressively worse".
I'll happily lay money on him being right.
...I don't know. It just never occured to me that they wouldn't.
