death cab for cutie.
every single bit. every bside too.
meh. with dashes of hmmmm accompanied by raised eyebrow.
I was ALMOST impressed when he started playing the drums, but then I always am when somebody switches instruments during a song.
Im not sure why..
That was also followed by "meh"
like the longcut then?
i just find that annoying. Get a drummer!
re: deathcab. i dont really know much about them, shamefully. what would you reccomend?
i'd recommend The Postal Service...
or if you really want Death Cab, the earlier the better i guess.
Or get the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band back-catalogue.
yes_ are you a fan of Phil CoLOLins then?
death cab for cutie are amazing. after discovering them a couple of months ago ive listened to their enitre discog and loved nearly all of it. they always put a smile on my face. and its msuci you have to listen to more than once. takes a while to get into it but so worth it when you do.
and transatlaticism are best.
its just that they're doing absolutely nothing i haven't heard before, and that the songwriting is never quite strong enough in my ears to make up for it.
nothing revoultionary, mind.
a big fat meh from me.
didn't you decide you didn't like them after the first 30 listens?
yes but the way people go on about them i thought maybe transatlanticism would be absolutely amazing, but it was just a more watered down version of the early stuff.
and we're voting yes is my fav. album by some distance.
Lowell, MA, is the best tune in my opinion
No Joy in Mudville's got its charm too.
BORING and rubbish.
Also, I think Transatlanticism is where they peaked. The Photo Album's not that good, and Plans is better.
