On sale next Monday!
Already booked my annual leave in anticipation.
do you reckon the badge is pretty essential in getting into various shows, unlike CMJ where there are lots of free shows during the day and ticketed stuff at night?
i'm planning to go next year y'see.
In that there's loads of free stuff during the day, only the really big bands (Devo, PJ Harvey etc) didn't do a daytime show at some point so you could easily see loads of great stuff without the badge. In the evening you can buy a ticket for a certain show and stay there, or there is the badge (which I had) which although is expensive is totally worth it. I think the longest I queued was about 10 minutes to see Passion Pit (which was a real hot ticket) pretty much everything else I just walked in. There is also wristbands, which are cheaper but take second priority to badges but I think these are only for local residents (I could be wrong)
I would get the badge if I went again (wont be next year, alas) as it allows you to freedom to go from venue to venue and if you're travelling that far it seems silly to restrict yourself.
will do some planning & lots of saving up then!
I loved it this year but have far too much to save for to be able to afford it 2 years in a row. Maybe 2011.
which hotels would you recommend? which ones are handy to get to the different venues?
got until late september before the prices for the badges go up, i see.
are in the 6th street area, I imagine you could get really god hotels as this early stage - we stayed at the Holiday Inn which was about 10 minutes walk. The later you book it, the less choice you'll have with hotels.
Looks like they've bumped up the price of the badge, swines.
