Because i've heard rumours of Slipknot playing, unlikely I know.
Any bands other than RATM a near certainty to play?
Metallica - Strong Rumour
Rage Against The Machine - Confirmed
according to E-festival
can you read, it says 'to be confirmed' love.
to Reading and Download then
a lot of the fun is just the group experience, and even if you hate 80% of the bands there you might stumble upon some new bands you actually quite like and go home only hating 75% of the bands.
i camped right in the middle the one time i went and there was very little trouble.. we could hear gas canisters being thrown into fires and whatnot in the distance but it wasn't as bad as some people may think.
and yeah if you'd really prefer to know you're away from the hubbub there is a quieter camp area, ie for people who've bought children and older people, and there are security guards there to make sure no-one makes noise past a certain time.
the only downside is it's across the river which means you have to get the boat across.. but that's not a major hassle i guess.
of how you get to be there. i think it's open to anyone, but if you're 21 it'll be you, some families with kids and a bunch of gently aging hipsters.
if you want to be as safe as possible on the main site get there early on the thursday and camp in one of the fields nearest to the main arena. the 'trouble' tends to occur in the fields futher out from the main site.
Basic line-up will be announced then.
They said so last week.
with China Drum, 60 Foot Dolls and Dub War doing the honours on the NME stage (is it still called that?).
The compere will be Gary Crowley.
rage against the machine seem to be headlining.
Fri - Killers
Sat - Rage
Sun - Metallica
be great if they announced that lineup. Well, I'd laugh.
it will be Northern Uproar instead
are also playing this year.
on the new bands stage, shame that alot of people aren't aware of them.
