so they can announce My Bloody Valentine for the EITS one and OxXfucka for the Pitchfork one.
this annoys me greatly.
which is pretty close to monday.
have got atp announced on their myspace page. the eits one. yay! i love televise.
i didn't think that much of them when my band played with them, i'll give em another listen now though
hopefully more bands tomorrow then!
So this is the big day?? Can`t see any announcments. I Hope it`s not MBV.
and mr summers was bluffing all along.
lets hope air formation are added too if televise are.
says the magic eight-ball.
because they are touring round then and pitchfork love them
but which half?
and I went to their house when he had a birthday - DULL ROAST FACT!
I dont reckon its MBV, I think they will do the NBC. Feist for EITS, Donkeyrape and OxXfucka for Pitchfork are my current guesses.
i was referring to baby dee.
which makes this conversation even more complicated.
Public enemy are playing May 21st Bristol academy, so i guess they're a candidate for ATP EITS?
she's on the ball these days
Doing 'Nation Of Millions..." as a Don't Look Back in May at Brixton Academy, so may do same at ATP (a la GZA?)
where did you get this info??????
Jamie Summers was just drummming up business...
does he actually have an idea? does he? does he?
dont think public enemy can be classed as the sort of act he was talking about.
dont worry. my prediction of today was a bit wrong though.
by the way, again, Public Enemy are NOT playing the pitchfork or EITS ATPs.
i will forgive you.
it was a random guess?
will definitely be at the EITS one without a doubt. Given that he's doing Cuban Linx the same weekend and Ghostface guests on nearly every track of that record. Whether or not they do 2 separate sets is a different matter.
Baby Dee and Bonnie Prince Billy In addition to Stephen Malkmus for the Pitchfork weekend! That would be great.
can we expect next update?
PUBLIC ENEMY >
it says 'around 50 bands will be playing' and there's only 30 listed so far!?
PE will NOT be playing either of the festivals.
public enemy!!! with special guest dangerous dave pearce ;D
whens yr next guess for additions?
im gonna say mid next-week
will be announced tonight
wegottickets aint got tickets
see tickets, i dont so any
before announcing pubic enemy
playing with Radiohead
See shows Minehead sold out (wow)
but we got tickets have tickets for both events:
Flavor Flav: 'YEEEAH BOIEE MISTAKEN FOR STRANGERS IN FULL EFFECT'
...for EITS ATP. Not more homophobic acts on the bill.....
Oh thats ok then (although I'd be curious to know how Liars and Elton John would work together!!!)
since when did public enemy become homophobic?examples please
that are semi-homophobic are from flavor flav and aren't really that hateful, just a bit stupid, and you can't really expect much sense from him at the best of times. the lines
'If you're gonna tell a story about people's worries
Watch what you tell 'em cause they don't bring you glory
It only brings agony, ask James Cagney
He beat up on a guy when he found he was a fagney'
are more of a crime against lyricism than a hate crime aren't they?
said they were playing on 6music last night but didn't say which weekend.
Is that the name of Will Sheff's thrash metal side project?
i'll see myself out.
just OVERKILL \M/
get me a cup of tea
that Raekwon is playing the EITS ATP.
josh t, tarentel and now apparently okkeril river too.
BUT! these are artists that have been asked, not confirmed. however out of about 10-15 i was told for Portishead only Ramesses didnt end up playing.
who else has been asked then???....
(i dont know anyone else)
no more patience left. I want some new bands for the Pitchfork weekend!!! NOW!!! Jordan, are you talking about Pitchfork or EITS?
but omg i want them to play EXPLOSIONS
at lunchtime. can you possibly hold in the excitement until then?
already shat myself once today, so probably.
need a more specific time!
TELL US YOU BASTARD
or do we have to bring out the correct posting jpg?
about what time you take lunch, and Jamie about telling us who it is. I know how to reply.
i take lunch at 2, as i technically have a breakfast around now. i have crispy baguette with philidelhia. mmm...
makes sense, as they're both from texas..
I'm going to cross my fingers that UGK, ZZ Top and Bowling For Soup are all about to confirm.
"a bit devastated that i'm not going to explosions"
IT MUST BE LUNCHTIME
should i go now to have a surprise when i come back or just get more hungry??
...this thread on the Recent Posts bar I get a semi.

that's the rubbish one! I want additions for the Pitchfork one!
They are joking? For fucks sake.
another three months yet. i think the red of the pitchfork flyer has given everyone some kind of impatient brain-fever.
add anyway, calm down.
I think everyone's excited because you posted that there was some stormingly awesome headliner yet to be announced that would sell the festival out as soon as people knew who it was.
that rather got my attention anyway...
thats not gonna happen now, but there might be someone else extra good soon.
hmmm.. another missed opportunity by pitchfork then, perhaps? they've really not impressed so far. i'm ludicrously excited about the festival but all the best work's been done by ATP...
but I'm probably not the only one who thought there would be announcements for both today. I shouldn't be so bothered really, it's not as if I'm waiting to see the lineup to buy a ticket.
we all know that everyone wanted it to be Radiohead for Pitchfork.
Increasingly I am hacked off with ATP though. It's a truly great festival, but they should just shut up about making announcements when it almost never happens.
I'm going to Pitchfork whichever way - I liked the old days of Camber. But I think some of the ATP choices a bit lame - Red Kross? Ween? It's like a Yankee art student's party c. 1993.
and so wouldn't want to see them at the festival.
when they were no.1 on the fans list that they'd love to have them play but as if they could afford it?
if people have no patience and assume its radiohead everytime then they're bound to be disappointed.
I just can't help proving Theo wrong.
actually i didn't want it to be radiohead - the whole thing would have seemed liked tourist trip on there part.
as to ween, sebadoh and red kross, i'm much more ecited about them than the good but essentially repetitive line up of DIRTY PROJECTORS, OF MONTREAL, LOS CAMPESINOS, LES SAVY FAV, YEASAYER etc who are all touring britain regularly at the moment. good bands sure, but nothing really stellar.
Pitchfork haven't actually managed to conjure anything particularly new or interesting for this at all.
If I was an ATP boss I would ban him from posting about it.
better to have someone who knows something talking about what's to come than nothing at all.
definitely our responsibility to keep our emotions in check. it's their job to deliver the lineup...
I read these threads because I like talking about ATP (banter, speculation etc), but I don't want someone who's apparantly in the know drip feeding hints all the time. Firstly, he got the prediction of a major act wrong this week, which not only got my hopes up but lost my trust as well, but secondly I prefer the excitment of the ATP announcement, like when it comes out of the blue and is hard fact.
Some in the know guy constantly dropping rubbish hints that come to nothing is just plain annoying, and quite frankly very un-professioal if he is now working for them.
no more random bushi please.
They are doing NBC instead.
I'm always right. Last year I predicted very early on that it was defintely Jesus and Mary Chain and I wasnt wrong was I?

that's ok, but i get the feeling there budget is probably running out.
sounds brill though, reminded me a bit of crime in choir, i shall be buying the album off amazon on Monday!
can we still look forward to amazing stuff anounced for ATP, or did that act go down the drain?
thing that would have been very exciting. it didn't work out, as many things don't. i won't bother next time. *SHAKES WITH ANGER*
You may as well tell us now...
Its very obvious you mean well, but it srangely cheapens the fun of watching the line up unfold. And the whole something-amazing-is-about-to-be-announced........oh hang on no it isnt, just looks like you are trying to flog more tickets for your employers.
And lets face it, one of the big appeals of ATP is that it isnt a money grabbing bastard.
Because you knew who they'd sent offers to so you felt part of the process (not that I actually went). Not sure I'd want them to do it every year though. I quite like the surprise when a new band pops up on the lineup.
On a completely unrelated note I reckon the posters this year are the best they've ever done.
It was great, though I felt a bit guilty coming back for more on the second Friday. Not sure why.
I have no news
