Truck Festival - RoII Call II
Who is coming to the revised Truck weekend, i dont want a list of "Im not coming and you have know idea how important that is to your life." because it isnt.
I just want to know which people will be there, ok? Great!
ME
hi!
*****
Good sensible answer. More please!
hi!
Hello!
I suspect I'll repeat my feat from last year of regularly spotting, standing next to and walking behind assorted DiSers and not thinking to introduce myself.
hello!
me and the lady shall be there.
w00p
mine too :)
Yup
I'll be there, and just to remind you, with our MusicDating.com stall...
Yep.
I'll be there along with Indie Rock Sam who sometimes posts here as 'Surfs Up' and 4 Truck first timers, two of them are women, but, it would be a stretch to refer to them as 'ladies'.
Oh, could we refer to the rescheduled Truck as 'Truck 10.2 - Escape from Atlantis'?
Cheers.
Surely..
if the one in July was called Truck 10, then the revised one would be called 10.1 not 10.2? So no.
Ahhhh........
but, Truck 10.1 would have been the last ditch effort at Oxford Brookes, surely?
Hence Truck 10.2!
...
no
I'm down!
and for the record no-one has ever called me Indie Rock Sam until this post!
just get really drunk,
totally embarrass yourself, and then mix things up further by:
- throwing up
- passing out
- sleeping with someone who you'll spend the next 3 years trying to avoid
or any combination of the three and you'll not have missed out on much.
I only did two of the above
yup
+ 3 and wilfarama who posted once, got scared and hasn't since
Hi!
im coming
im excited
I'll be there
of course
I'll be there with chums
Like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. If Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were going to be at Truck playing cricket.
And the first advance weather forecast is...
Heavy rain all weekend. Of *course* it is.
hi!
I'm in
oh yeah.
me and sally
plus friends will be there.
Is there a confirmed line up yet?

though, there is somewhere else i'd MUCH rather be.
Me
I can actually face another festival now.
me!
YAY!

I like your style
no
though there's a possibility of me having a spare tent which you're welcome to if you don't sort something out.
i'm just a bit poor this month
so if i can blag a space with someone it would be easier than buying a new tent, considering i wont get much use out of it.
no i meant
if you can't find space in someone else's tent, i'll bring the spare one (if i do indeed have a spare) and you can use that for the weekend.
I have a spare space in my tent.
aw
shucks
i'll take that as a semi offer!
unless i see a megacheap tent in blacks tomorrow.
You..
....were begging to stay in someones tent last time Truck was scheduled. People called you a sex pest then and i shall be the first now...sex pest!
You've had two months to get your act together so try and refute the claims.
me??
i had a space and then the guy cancelled. now i have another space confirmed. admittedly it is with a lady 4 years younger than me, but i'm not quite a sexpest yet.
memememememe
where's Gemma?
she aint going.
bobbygeorge is in charge of the bus! OH NOES!
*hand up*
me!
Me!
whoo!
me
I'd nearly forgotten about it though.
Me
am.
ME
!
There
with about 7 others.
I'm not sadly
Think of me, gamely trying to write an entire newspaper section on that night as you drink and fuck. I hate overambitious deadlines. Especially when I'm not the one setting them :(
:'(
well, it was a straight toss up
i bought his ticket.
Me
and JezCC
Me
featuring the brother, mother and girlfriend
Me!
Having said that, I am yet to meet another DiSer that I didn't already know, so this will probably make little difference.
Does anyone know
What I should put in the aa route planner to get to it? Steventon? Abingdon? Has anyone got a postcode?
steventon...
is your best bet. it'll be signposted once you get into the village. but generally take a left after the shop (co-op i think) and then another left after the road bends round to the right.
Um...
I think I'm going now.
:D
hurrah!
Finally got my guestlist sorted this morning
So I am going.
Not terribly excited, I'm all festival-d out after End Of The Road. Will be ace though.
good STUFF
hola
Me and mini mes
mini mall
it's just like
kitchens, dinettes, bedrooms
oh yeah
let's make it a dance
you're bringing some little squeeky knees?
yes..... so behave
Is anyone going up on Friday?
I think I'll be there by 5:30ish. Alroight!
Oh...you can go the day before?
will there be more parking opportunities on the friday?
also where will you be camping
or should i try to camp in a different area if you are going to be getting up to ....'stuff'
I don't know what 'stuff' I'll be doing
the friday camping isn't official, but last year we just turned up and they let us in.
Yeah is there a quiet camping area and normal one?
My friends can be loud and I don't want to annoy people by camping in a family area or something.
Bringing your own alcohol... what are the do's and do nots?
Can you bring your own alcohol to watch the bands?
How far away is the village?
Nope to camping.
I don't think there really are any rules concerning alcohol, and yes you can take your own into the arena bit.
The village is like half a mile away.
thank you
um
i dont think you can take glass.
Definitely no glass or camping stoves.
1. NO GLASS. The festival operates a strict no glass policy. Anyone found with glass on them will have it confiscated. There will be checks at the security gate. If you have got any drinks that come in glass, our advice is to empty the contents into a plastic bottle.
- Remember to recycle the empty glass
2. NO FIRES. (This includes BBQs). Camping Stoves are allowed.
3. NO SMOKING IN THE TENTS OR BARN STAGES - remember England is now smokefree in enclosed public places. If you are found to be smoking in these areas, under Government legislation, you will be fined £50 and if it becomes a big problem, the future of the festival will be jeapordised.
4. NO DOGS - (except registered guide dogs)
5. NO SOUNDSYSTEMS
6. ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED - Please respect the farm, your neighbours in the campsite, the stewards, security, stall holders, bar staff etc... Anyone found to be behaving in what is considered to be an anti-social manner will be removed from the festival site. Truck is a friendly festival.
- Please also remember to treat the local village and villagers with respect. Without their support, there would be no festival.
7. PLEASE LOOK AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT - There are plenty of bins and recycling bins around the site. Please try to keep the farm as tidy as possible and therefore minimise the impact of the festival on the area.
Please also note that sniffer dogs will be on site this year.
Yes!
(me)
Yay
I'll be there
it says you can have camping stoves!
Hotdammit Summers!
Hoisted by my own petard.
I am

Ive sudenly gone all nervous
I think its the prospect of having my kids and all you lot there, and that my kids dont really like camping
and im nervous in case they all dont have a good time
cos if they dont it will be my fault.
i'm bring lots of funs stuff,
not to actract kids specifically, but if you can find me your kids are welcome to borrow kites, planes, bouncy globes, bubbles and cards!
so ye have nothing to worry about, they'll have a ball (literally!)
