and so will not be sending them a sample of my scrotal sack in order to get a ticket.
All those youngsters are too busy doing Cake and bopping around to the New Wave of New Doo-wop
but it looks like their anti-touting measures are getting a bit convoluted....
Postal registration, photos on tickets! Is this really going to work?
Well it's going to be hard to do anything about, isn't it?
The real problem is what if you can't go. There should be something in place for you to return the ticket to them or for you to sell tickets on a board on their site that would regulate the cost and make the transfer easy.
you can usually cancel up till about 20 days before. They should make it 1 day maybe but still, it's a good system I don't care about all the ID stuff, it stops touts, so I'm happy with it.
My expereince in 2005 was so bad I doubt I'll go again.
the inability to get anywhere in less than an hour
getting an allergic reaction to the sun cream I used
I wouldn't let it put you off. I started off with two years of good weather so when it was shit the next two times I made sure to not let it ruin anything. And I didn't even have wellies.
The line up bears no relation to my enjoyment of Glastonbury.
i love comments like this. it's like when people say "it's about the experience".
I'm not really bothered about the line-up when I buy my ticket (same for ATP).
I know that by the time the festival comes around there'll be at least a few acts worth catching. Last time I missed most of the stuff I planned to see, but still had a really great time (regardless of the shitty weather).
she brings Lightning Bolt and Konono#1 with her.
if thats her only uk gig this year i'll actually die
if I wanted to go see bands I'd go see them at gigs, the sound is usually better, the crowd more into the bands, longer sets etc etc etc, it's not some automatic pretentious hippy shit cos I say that, it's just true (about glastonbury)
I know loads of people who go and see about five bands the whole weekend there and have a great time. It's not Reading (load of bands in a field = a 'festival') so I dont feel like I have to run around seeing millions of bands cos there's feck all else to do and otherwise I'd have wasted £130. It's just plain fucking great and the bands are a bonus.
Tut tut Guntrip
I love that stage. But surely she's too big?
gah, I've just said I won't go!
ATP because she's touring America and Primavera is the week after isn't it?
and played the Olympic thing to about a billion people. She's bigger than the Killers surely, and as she hardly ever plays she has that "I'll go see her" factor which mean the Other Stage is a stupid place to put her.
she's headlined reading before.
people will go see her purely on the basis of it's oh so quiet etc, I don't think the majority will care/have heard the more recent stuff. People will go "I wanna see Bjork" because they'll have already seen the Killers/know they can see them again.
people use those phrases as a euphemism for "i'm going to take loads of drugs! LOL!!!!" than anything else.
...and pear cider.
