ROWF! ROWF! ROWF! 2
Sat 15th July @ The Klondkye Club, Levenshulme, Manchester
Doors 5.30pm, £6 in
Yes, it's second all-dayer brought to you by the lovely Golden Lab Records in Manchester's most punk postal area. Featuring:
CHARALAMBIDES - A Texan brother and sister who play psychedelic ragas, mantra like acoustical drone and all with almost baroque, archaic structures. A magical thing and the the greatest thing ever to come out on the Kranky label.
PARTS & LABOR - Tumultuous noise from Brooklyn, NY, with enormous, triumphant melodies, day-glo noise, charred drones, punk velocity and phoenix-like hooks. New album "Stay Afraid" out on Oneida's label, Brah.
KONG - Taut, aggressive, drum heavenly man-rock from Manchester. Feature one of Oceansize and yet somehow are really good. Confusing.
I HAD AN INKLING - Manchester/Leeds/Suffolk undanceable pop and aggro-jazz. Odd meters and rhythms clash with ultra oblique guitars and mega-yelps.
SWORD DRAWINGS - London Casio prog pioneers with falsetto wailing and astounding, fast, Rick Wakeman keyboard riffs.
MODERN BISON - Counter rhythmic Albini type stuff from Salford that will tickle your eardrums to tinnitus town.
SERFS - Sometimes they play acoustic drone. Sometimes the play electric drone. Either way, it's intense and exciting and so great.
