Brudenell Social Club
Anyone who witnessed Golden Teacher's set at the Brudenell Social Club last year will testify to their power as a live dance act, and to their ability to create an hypnotic fervour with their often-improvised, highly immersive dance ritual.
GT's music is the result of a collaboration between members of Glasgow acts Ultimate Thrush and Silk Cut. Their two EPs on Optimo Music show their approach to music as an organic, instinctive, collective workout, building from the ground up with live drums and percussion, analog drum machines and male and female voices as the main focus.
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night (Optimo Music 2014)
Bells From The Deep End (Optimo Music 2013)
Fresh from a tour of England and France with Alpage Records touring partners Bodybeat, Galaxians bring their brand of house-infused boogie funk back to the Brudenell for a repeat of last year's transformation of the main gig room into a sweat-soaked dance club. Jed Skinner and Matt Woodward combine their love for the output of '80s NYC record labels such as SAM, Prelude and West End, to produce a modern take on a classic sound - 808 / 909 drum machines, deep, squelching JX3P synth bass sounds, LOGG-style piano melodies and syncopated live drumming.
Personal Disco Component (Dither Down - due April 2014)
4-song EP (Rotating Souls - due March 2014)
Galaxians / Bodybeat Split 12 (Stargaze 2014)
Galaxians / Runners Split 12 (Stargaze 2013)
