••• NOXAGT •••
NOXAGT's music emphasises a heavy and powerful rhythm section, with a massive downtuned bass guitar and crushing, often shifting drums. The droning viola of Nils Erga has now been substituted for the experimental guitar playing of Anders Hana.
Anders is also a member of JAGA JAZZIST, ULTRALYD and MORTHANA. His roots are in free improvisation and his resumé includes performances with TREVOR DUNN (FANTOMAS), PAAL NILSSEN-LOVE and MATS GUSTAFSSON.
NOXAGT has released two critically acclaimed albums - “Turning It Down Since 2001” (2003) and “The Iron Point” (2004) - on LOAD RECORDS.
Both albums were produced by BILLY ANDERSON (Fantomas, Melvins).
Since their inception in 2001, NOXAGT have toured Europe and the US several times, not to mention their native Norway. In the summer of 2004 the band played at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, the biggest music festival in Europe. This same year the band also recorded a Peel Session at the BBC studios in London.
“The Iron Point”:
“30 minutes of solid, untarnished black horror that never, ever relents.” Louis Pattison, NME
“If iron is both a metallic element and a flattening appliance, then The Iron Point is the nexus at which brutal metal and stiff punk meet to arm wrestle.” Marc Masters, The Village Voice
“It’s exhilarating stuff, made more remarkable by the way Noxagt combine punk vigour with a blustery Nordic grandeur.” John Mulvey, Uncut
“Turning It Down Since 2001”:
One of the 50 best albums of 2003 in The Wire
“The ‘it’ they’ve been turning down since 2001 has to be ‘Sanity’, right.” 9/10 Nathan T. Birk, Terrorizer

••• HUNTING LODGE •••
Hunting Lodge make music at the point where the boredom has long since abated, the point where a kind of manic joy sets in, the dull chorus of 700 computer fans and phone operatives becomes giddily thrilling, and your every gesture becomes exaggerated and hilarious. In their ecstatic celebration of Nothing, Hunting Lodge salvage the pawnshop gold of Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, Boredoms, and King Crimson, infuse it in vats of piss and come away with base metal. Repetitive churning dirges framed by drunken skiffle, giddy house rhythms and inept free-form freakouts are clamped around lyrics about Whitby, a wizard and seagulls trapped in bins.
••• GEISHA •••
The heaviest, darkest and most misanthropic bastard of a band you are ever likely to hear... their ep 'hyms for the living dead' led Tasty zine to gush: "One of the most brutal sounding records I have heard coming from the UK in recent memory...I cannot recommend this highly enough."
