Shift records is a collaboration between disco lovers and party throwers, Itchysoul and Ctrl_Alt_Del, an independent record label.
Shift has put on a series of hugely successful parties around London, where over the last few months shift have bought an amazing array of DJ talent to the intimate surroundings.
DJs such as Rahaan, Andy Blake, Richard Sen, Felix Dickinson, NY legend John Morales, Red Rack’em & Love Fever DJs have all graced the decks at Shift parties.
Severino began his DJ career in Mantova, Northern Italy. At the age of 26 he made the move to London where his job was record buyer for Italian Disco Label, Disco Inn. His work with Disco Inn has been one of success and has brought a smile to many a London clubbers face. In 1998 Severino decided to make a step into club promotion. His first venture was with friends Rob Wood (of the unforgettable Jockey Slut) and Michael Morley (Zomba Records and Lucky Numbers) and their party was Happy Families. They began their night at the Easts premier cocktail DJ bar Cocomo. As word spread numbers increased and Fabric was their next port of all with a bi-monthly residency knocking the socks of all who came to shake their tail feathers! The Lifthouse house was Happy Families next home which the boys promoted for just over a year. During the same time Severino met Jim Stanton (The Cock & Horse Meat Disco) and began to make a little part of the gay scene. His residencies came in quick and fast and in these days Severino is making his music heard some of Vauxhalls finest gay establishments like Crash, AM and particularly at the legendary Sunday partiesHorse Meat Disco. He has also secured himself regular slots at 333 Saturdays and latest news is his involvement with longterm friend Nico De Ceglia in running and djing at Nico's established CODEX parties alongside their other partner Julius. All in all this DJ is one of the hardest workers around and his taste and flare for playing brings a smile to all who have the pleasure to hear him play. You can expect anything from disco, house, electro and soulful vocal music. But most of all this DJ loves his music and wants to share in his vast and amazing music knowledge with all who come to his dancefloor.
Itchysoul have been around for 6 years putting on great disco parties across London at venues such as, Public Life, East Village, Sosho & The Egg plus an annual disco boat party up and down the Thames.
They’ve played stomping festival gigs that have taken them across the globe from the UK to Africa and back again and have worked with the many of the regulars on the London Party scene, Lazermagnetic, Chibuku, Universal Vibes, EBM & DDD.
A rising House night serving up funky to deep house with some of the best and well respected producers around getting out of their studios and back behind the decks.
Jay Benham, writer, producer, DJ & vocalist, has been running his London-based studio www.SoundAnswers.com for over 15 years, and has worked with some of the best names in the business – SuSu Bobien, DJ Spen, Andrea Love, Angie Brown, Barbara Tucker, Andy Holder, Dawn Tallman, Chris Simmonds, Michelle Weeks; releasing on Strictly Rhythm, Defected, Hed Kandi, Soundmen On Wax and Jellybean Soul to name but a few.
Since meeting Danny Clark two years ago the dynamic duo have been in the studio almost non-stop, breathing new life into the world of Soulful and Gospel House, and blasting themselves to the forefront of people’s consciousness with last year's unavoidable floor-filler, Wondrous. In 2009 they formed Solid Ground Recordings (www.solidgroundrecordings.com), and took the charts by storm with their debut release, Conqueror Ft Dawn Tallman. The lads look forward to an exciting release schedule in 2010 featuring Carla Prather, DJ Spen, Andrea Love and Michael Watford (or so the rumours go!)
