New Weird Nottingham and Three Cheers bring you their Christmas Party With...
Teen Sheikhs (Brighton)
Brighton dudes creating upbeat, deep fuzz, shoe-gaze indie that packs a bit more punch than the likes of Crystal Stilts. If Wavves covered a Shop Assistants track, you'd be around the right mark. Awesome!!
Golden Grrrls (Glasgow)
What is it about hazy indie-pop bands who bury their glory under a mountain of fuzz and split their time between worshiping C86 and worshiping second-rate American sitcoms? You could at least call your band Friends or M.A.S.H.
Part of a growing number of good new bands from Glasgow: DIVORCE, Ultimate Thrush, We Are Wolves, Plaaydoh, etc. They have a self-released cassette out now, which you can buy at their shows and at the Monorail Music store in Glasgow. Which isn’t much good for most of us, but who’s actually got a tape player anyway? For now, listen to the jangle below.
Weirdo punk from Nottingham no-wave vibe machine, in the words of Johnny Scarr: Something like the fall if they tried to make disco tunes.
Punk trio knocking out snarling garage punk which'll make your nuts swing taking in influences like Die Kreuzen, Make-Up, The Mummies and the Bad Form.
