Experience music and Saturday afternoons in a whole new way.

On Yndi Halda:

yndi halda, from Kent, write the sort of songs that simultaneously break hearts and mend hearts. The pieces that make up debut record Enjoy Eternal Bliss are a beautiful combination of expansive orchestral indie-rock, breathtaking crescendos and gentle stillness, all indelibly permeated with the wide-eyed sweetness of youth.

This will be yndi halda's first UK show of 2009. The band has spent the first half of the year in their hilltop barn, busily crafting new songs for their forthcoming LP, which will be performed in its entirety here at the Union Chapel.

On Paul Marshall:

Like every great writer Marshall’s history is an unsettled one. Growing up in London, he then moved to Whitby on the north-east coast where he learnt his trade, aged 18. However the buzz of metropolis called, and Leeds is now home, a vibrant and music soaked city where inspiration is always around the corner. Paul Marshall greets his audience and the airwaves armed with just himself and his acoustic guitar. Lulled into a false sense of security with gorgeous melodies, the lyrics reveal a darker undercurrent where death, love, regret and murder are all touchstones. Covering the macabre in his songwriting has become his stand out from the broad brush strokes of British folk.

On snowbird:

Simon Raymonde (Bella Union) comes together with a songstress from the snowy hills of Wisconsin, Stephanie Dosen. Together they make Snowbird. They search for shells in the forest. They melt icicles on their tongues. Then at night they sing lullabies by the seaside for anyone who wants to hear. Expect haunting melodies and lush and chiming piano songs from this duo.
