Fuzz closes it's second term of the academic year with a special appearance from Radio 1 disk jockey
Born in Cardiff upon the year of our Lord, 1981, Huw became the youngest ever Radio 1 DJ at the tender age of 18. His encyclopaedic knowledge of music and the many genres within has served him well in the post-Peel years, garnering him spots as a curator at Latitude, host at Reading, written contributions to the NME, Guardian and started a festival in Cardiff called S?n which I won't event attempt to pronounce.
Aside from information pilfered from Wikipedia, you can fully expect to enjoy a classic indie disco that'll keep you boppin' an' a bippin' away. Get some requests in and we'll see if he'll play 'em.
PLUS A LOVELY LIVE SHOW FROM...
MICACHU AND THE SHAPES
Recently signed to Rough Trade and more hot than Pol Pot, Mica Levi and her accompanying duo The Shapes make wonderfully quixotic lo-fi pop with elements of crackly, distorted electro that touch base with recent movements in 8-bit sorta music.
There's a lotta buzz round this London native and much is made of her music. Catch her now! Catch her!
"...skittish and episodic, alternating between exotic and familiar instrumentation and between snatches of melody and atonal noise to replicate the logic of dreams. You won't hear another record like this in 2009." The Independent
