MY FRIENDS KILL MY FOLKS is an occasional club night named after a Herman Dune song and putting together some of the city's most entertaining off-kilter acts.
PAUL HAWKINS & THEE AWKWARD SILENCES (London)
A true pop eccentric, Hawkins and his band delivered one of the most strangely delightful albums of 2008 in 'We Are Not Other People' (Jezus Factory).
There are reams of gushing reviews for said product such as the one below but instead of reading them just have a listen and come on down the front!
'It appears that the man's a genius, a rambling outsider with more uniquely British pop nous and intelligence in his one bar-propping elbow than the leather-clad likes of The Libertines had in their whole sorry career. Get him before 'the other people' do.

TEN FOOT NUN (Croydon)
Inventors of the Croydon 'Pronk' sound, mixing pop, punk and prog in one hefty stewpot.
'An almost unfathomable fusion of Prince, The Bee Gees, Oscar Peterson and Motorhead' - Wired

SUPERMAN REVENGE SQUAD (Croydon)
Last seen supporting Jeffrey Lewis at that triumphant two-gigs-in-a-night event back in November, SSR is one guy and his guitar with a love-hate relationship for his much-maligned hometown.
'A very sharp lyricist indeed… Absolute genius!' – Tom Robinson, 6 Music
'Stirring agit-folk, with the fragility of Bright Eyes & some hilarious lyrics'- Subba-Cultcha

Band so new they haven't got a name yet, but they are ex-Nosferatu D2 so bound to be interesting.
