Be nice to see some DiSers down at Bradford's infamous Anarchist Club for this wodnerful day of music.
Check it- Marvin's Revolt -
Utterly incredible Danish three-piece. They take a bit from the twiddly Don-Cabellero school of guitar, not unlike Dartz!, Foals or Tokyo Police Club, but add dance-floor friendly shouts and beats. Unmissable.
Often likened to Deerhoof; we think Buttonhead are a band that defy comparison. Hailing from London, where they are already causing a stir with their unhinged live shows and a joyously odd approach to song writing… Drowned in sound put it well when they called them ‘Deranged, in the best possible way’.
The Rosie Taylor Project-
Leeds’ much loved folk posse promote their sublime new album "this city draws maps" out 21st April on Bad Sneakers Records.
Oldschool indie/C86 with s fittingly socialist sentiment. (+cough syrup)
fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=210886777 Fast rising (and beloved by Los! Campesinos)- delicate, magical, entrancing lo-fi casio-pop.
Legendary young tykes mix Thornton wit and Bradford grit over lush indie-pop.
Kid Id –
Stunning harmonies, double bass, horns and danceable folk-hop from the Leeds ‘Bright young things’ winners.
A special Bontempi, acoustic performance from the Bradford legends.
Pablo's Finest Hour
Seriously impressive violin-led folk from Manchester.
Blues relics and contemporary folk from the fastest picking fingers in Leeds! Wonderful.
My First Tooth.
Heart-warming, toe-tapping acoustic singalongs from the Northampton two-piece.
A rare chance to see a virtuoso harpist in the 1in12 club, expect a few recognisable surprises too.
Garfunkle and Simon.
First ever outing for Patrick Dowson (Monty Casino) in new solo acoustic guise; he was doing what Jeffery Lewis does before Jeff Lewis did it, and in a northern accent! Surely fantastic.
There will also be a lovely vegan buffet; the usual cheap, ethical ales; knitting; chai tea stall; funny merch and much more!
Arrive 1pm for the Knit 1 Purl 1 Collective’s workshop, materials provided.
Free mix Cds for the first 25 Paying in. And its only five pound for the whole day! That’s less than 40p a band!
Everyone welcome, all ages and creeds. :D
1in12 is only 5 minutes walk from the Interchange or Forster Square train stations, last train back to Leeds is at half eleven.
