Now in their 15th year Dreadzone have a history with its foundations in the 80s hiphop/ rock/dub soundclash of Big Audio Dynamite and an evolution in the early 90s rave and techno scene. With a prolific output of fifteen singles and seven albums, one of which was cited by John Peel as one of his top ten of all time, years of touring their inimitable show the world over which has earned them an awesome live reputation; along with a critically renowned DJ Soundsystem element that keeps them at the cutting edge, Dreadzone have truly earned respect as the original warriors of the dance... and they even found time to squeeze in a top 20 hit along the way.
Dreadzone Sound System features Greg Dread (Boss DJ, founder of Dreadzone and original member of Big Audio Dynamite), MC SPEE (Renown MC & Dreadzone vocalist, who has worked with TerminalHead, Boy George) plus the superb roots singer EARL 16. In 1998 they launched the seminal West London club night Dubwiser at Notting Hill Arts Club. Sweet Memory Sounds are delighted to be bringing them back for their 10th anniversary of those legendary nights.
