Epic45/July Skies/The Exploits of Elaine: Nottingham
The High Society Presents...
EPIC45
Songs full memories of childhood, dreams of the English countryside. For fans of Fennesz, Disco Inferno, Mogwai, Boards of Canada...
JULY SKIES
Haunted, reverb soaked tunes drawing similar thematic inspiration as Epic45, but sounding like Pygmalion era Slowdive/Durutti Column.
THE EXPLOITS OF ELAINE
Semi-improvised set of chugging, clanking organic folk-kraut (!) in honour of Britain's railway system and the fear and awe it's inspired in people throughout the years.
Classic British Transport Films will be shown and there'll be a mixtape swap box (bring one, take one!).
The Arts Organisation, Station Street, Nottingham
£3 (£2 highsoc members)

July Skies
is absolutely great !
ok...
doors: probably about 8.30pm
It's on Station Street, which runs down the length of (oddly enough) the station: turns off Carrington Street at the Bentinck Hotel (where Chic formed, fact fans!).
What information I did give was erroneous too: following a practice today The Exploits of Elaine will now be showcasing two new tracks that sound like Silver Mt.Zion and Steeleye Span holed up together. Vocal harmonies ahoy!
And you're right lyle: July Skies makes beautiful music.
only...
...a few days away.
tomorrow

...ladies and gents.
Bring your own booze too.
