THE CREEPING NOBODIES (CANADA, DLTD ART)
A quintet from the super-fertile Toronto scene, The Creeping Nobodies are quick to share their dark tales, paranoid delusions, fragmented thoughts and frenetic / creepy music with unsuspecting listeners everywhere. They perform a sort of art-punk / no-wave / non-traditional rock that is angular, singular, sharp and not easy to categorize. Following various releases for hometown label Blocks Recording Club (Final Fantasy, Fucked Up), a new LP entitled 'Augur & Auspices' is forthcoming on ace Swedish imprint Deleted Art (Mika Miko, No Age, xbxrx). For fans of the post-punk sound of bands like Swell Maps, Wire, Pere Ubu or Sonic Youth.
Whacked out fuzzed up vocals, heavy keyboard riffage and pounding drums from this leeds duo. Strangely they also apparently feature the writer of the theme tune for "Deal Or No Deal". For fans of Butthole Surfers, Lightning Bolt, Load Records.
BROKEN ARM (new band! members of WOMAN and SAILORS!)
Kind of like if Woman was a little less funky and a little more rocking, Like Woman meets Sailors maybe!?
