Camper than a girl guides weekend away, The Chalets' fourth single from last year's album Check In kicks off with sassy question/answer boy-on-girl quirkiness. It then proceeds to rip in with one of the best lollipop-smashingly catchy choruses indie has produced since Bis split.
This burst of air-guitar-inducing pop laced with Rocky Horror-tinged glamour could be the soundtrack to each of your favourite chaotic and intoxicated nights rolled into one: fuzzy, hedonistic and fun in the most innocuously naughty way. Before the song is up you’ll be frantically calling all of your most badly behaved friends and bulk-buying in the tequila.
'Theme From Chalets' is all thrashing guitars, saccharine sweet vocals and power-ball bass and, like most of the sort of evenings it portrays, in a few weeks you’ll probably have forgotten it ever existed. Who said throwaway pop was a bad thing?
