With the acrid taste of Jet still causing a twang at the back of the throat occasionally, bands like Louis XIV probably aren't the most inspired form of aural antiseptic mouthwash to remove all traces of unwanted retro plaque.
Having said that, 'Pledge Of Allegiance', with it's 'Jean Genie'-esque riff and lyrical couplets about Stacey Q (whoever she may be) can't really be considered as being offensive on the eardrums and probably doesn't consider itself to be anything more than a pastiche of a time most parents still relive when Mud and Slade have their bi-annual December televisual revisits.
The thing is though kids, that as fun as it may sound, it ain't big or clever to rehash the smelliest cheese thirty years too late.
