If there was ever a spiky psychedelic pop boat, I can't help but feel that Duels have missed it. 'Pressure On You' is a decent enough little ditty, but The Zutons and The Coral have been doing this for years – and Maximo Park have taken 2005 by storm with a similar blueprint.
They've got all the right moves – a quirky guitar solo here, a gonzo chorus there - but it's a little too predictable and there just isn't enough lyrical ingenuity beneath the surface to warrant repeated listens.
The keys in the chorus are a joy to behold, though, and it would be wrong to persecute a band just because they've been taken under Ricky Wilson's ample wing.
