For those of you yet to hear it, 'Schteeve' is where perky punkrockin' upstarts yourcodenameis:milo come wonderfully unstuck, forgetting their chirpy, scream-riddled post hardcore for a stab at Radiohead-like grandeur. Skipping said stab to cut to the chase, this isn't really very good. It plods rather than poke the listener in the ear in the style of past releases, and exposes ycni:m for the wholly one-dimensional act that they are. If you're sticking to what you know best, great - being one-dimensional is fine. However, get out of your depth and you'll sink into the darkness quicker than Peter Stringfellow goes through g-stringed girls a third his age. The involvement of mega-producer Flood has me worried too; if ycni:m's forthcoming album 'Like A Cat, Like A Fox' is as FM bland as this song, we may as well forget about them right now.
