Hmm…
Nah, after a few more listens they still do absolutely nothing for me. Y’see, when you have four young guys from Southern California growing up in the area’s much publicised punk community, looking up to the forefather’s of sunshine-filled punk rock and trying to emulate their heroes’ success then you kinda get a feeling they’re gonna fall flat on their arse – especially if all you can hear are the same predictable Lagwagon-type drum rhythms and completely uninspiring tunes, no matter how earnestly they’re sung.
They’ve toured with *The Ataris *& *Strung Out *in the states so I guess if you’re after a watered down version then this is for you. They are vaguely redeemed by the live footage, band interviews and backstage tour footage waiting to be unravelled within the disc, which does seem pretty cool. Just a shame about the music then.
