For those who own the previously released self titled album, this song is the really irritating one. “Jennifer dates a man in a sixties cover band.” that line will instantly remind you . It’s the single irritating line in the long player that gets stuck in your head mercifully removing the sounds of Teenage Dirtbag.
Of course this makes it the obvious choice for a single. Sadly it is still not the sort of song that is going to lead to a Top 10 single. I doubt it will even reach the Top 40. Which is unfortunate really as it is a better than average pop song and deserves to do better. But you wonder why bother releasing it as the only people who are going to buy it once engraved the word Pavement in a school Chemistry lab bench. It’s an average song off an excellent album. This song won’t inspire you but the album will. You would be better off spending your pennies on that.
