A three-track CD from a three-piece all-female rock/metal band. It starts off promisingly enough, the lead track is essentially a low slung homage to the likes of L7 with a vocal delivery bordering on Sleater Kinney. However, nu metal leanings start to creep in towards the end and by second track, 'Born', we've got very chuggy. The riffs are more predictable and the vocal has become a stilted grunt. Think Kittie without the semblance of melody. Track three, 'Spaceball', is no better. Someone get the holy Lemsip, the lady's coughing up Satan.
When you hear a dynamic vocal capable of strength and passion it's gutting to see it wasted on a thrash metal bellow. Perhaps Embryon should look again where they're headed, heavier isn't always better.
