Artificial Light Source isn't strong enough to incite the kind of affection that will sustain another prolonged absence»

Leftfield - one of electronic music's greatest acts - finally make a triumphant return with a brand new set, their third album 'Alternative Light Source', their first since 1999's 'Rhythm And Stealth'. Straight from the off it's a classic built on solid gold breaks (if their's one thing they've always been good at it's drums!), rolling bass, hooks, melodies and special guests - here in the guise of Channy Leaneagh (Polica), Ofei, Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio) and Sleaford Mods. From the laser guided 'Universal Everything' to the intense 'Little Fish' it's got that trademark Leftfield sound right through it, but brought right up to date. Add to that the jumpin' 'Head And Shoulders' featuring Sleaford Mods (watch those bins!) and the acid meltdown that is 'Levitate For You' you got a serious return on your hands. These are just moments on a fine, fine album built for the club and the home, Leftfield are back in a very big way.
