Talons - Hollow Realm
Setting the bar high for future releases, Hollow Realm is a superb album, uplifting and moving with a sense of melody that is often lost with similarly technically adept musicians.»

for fans of: and so i watch you from afar, russian circles, this will destroy you, 65 days of static, pelican, pulled apart by horses. talons are a 6 piece instrumental band, featuring 2 violinists, who call the backwater town of hereford their home. forging the explosive energy of hardcore, the subtleties of post-rock and the fractured song structures and complexities associated with math-rock, talons possess a fascinating sense of urgency and drive, with a sound that both soothes and savages in equal measure. the six-piece are best experienced in a live environment, where the visceral, raw energy of their music can be fully appreciated. following on from three sold out singles, 'hollow realm', the bands debut album, was produced earlier this year by former iforward russia! frontman tom woodhead in south wales. comprised of 8 brand new songs, written as a single piece of music, it's a notable progression for the instrumentalists as they move further into the metal territory, producing a record which is as brutal as it is beautiful, perfectly showcasing why they're one of the most exciting up and coming underground bands around.
