high places return with a glorious, sun drenched second lp on thrill jockey. building on the delightful bedroom ethno-rave sound of their first record, 'vs mankind' sets out to explore what it is to be human and to interact with other humans. a lofty and existential intention but you don't really need to think about all that stuff: just dig the woozy, euphoric percussive clatter and simple but heart pulling melodies. the duo have progressed a lot in the past few years and have ripened into a full-on joyful experience.
