on k records. jeffery and jack lewis, kimya dawson, karl blau. calling this a 'supergroup' would be distasteful, but what the hell: its a bonafide anti-folk supergroup! the bundles' eponymous debut is a delightful fusion of everything the protagonists have done to date. mix the tragic-comic folk narratives of jeffrey lewis, with kimya's friendly calls for bravery, with the daffy, multi-instrumentations of karl blau, jack jewis and anders griffen and the result is an album that is able to be both snarky and tender, vulnerable and confident - all at the same time. supergroup or not, this is one to hold dear to your heart.
