Neon Indian - Psychic Chasms
This is the sound of regression, desperately seeking the Ferris Bueller days off, sitting on our Spiderman bedspreads, playing Prince of Persia, Double Dragon and/or Starfox, wearing Karate Kid peejays. This is escapism, going down the Warioland pipe and into a rabbit hole of hazy days which began with bonus levels before breakfast. »

a rough trade uk exclusive. garnering amazing reviews on pitchfork and sterogum the latest us sensation makes it over to europe courtesy of rough trade. melding italo disco, and psychedelia and coming not a million miles away from mgmt, starting off strong, 'deadbeat summer' takes chromeo's vibrato-laden synths and places them next to guitar lines that sound like they'd normally be the melody of noise pop song. the fourth track, 'terminally chill', feels like a laid back indie rock song (think dirty projectors) run through a beat machine. everything falls into place perfectly: the 'aaahhhhs'; the intricate, panned synths; the doubled guitar line and the vocal melody blend to create near electropop perfection.
