Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced the title and details of their new album.
Formerly interesting and yet now depressingly bland US four-piece the Red Hot Chili Peppers have named their new LP Stadium Arcadium, which is a really great name.
According to vocalist Antony Kiedis, "it's a lot different to 'By The Way'. There are some profoundly funky songs and then there are songs that are new for us and don't sound like anything." Songs that don't sound like anything? What, like silence? Oh sweet LORD say it's true.
After the ludicrous success of last album By The Way, the band have moved on to pastures mildly new, guitarist John Frusciante added, "there's heavier stuff than the band's ever done, and there's also a lot of beautiful, soaring melodies. I feel like everybody's taking their instrument to a new level." Taking their instrument to a new level? Yeah, new level of PAIN. HAHAHAHA.
The album is due in the middle of 2006, so that would June or July one would imagine. Just in time to play all the festivals. Great. Just, great.
