WombatWombat @ Norwich. Proper indie action
oappleby by Ollie Appleby October 31st, 2002
If you were ever in any doubt about UK-based indie talent, look no further than East Anglia's premier venue Norwich Arts Centre tomorrow, Friday 1st November WombatWombat plays host to a line up that showcases yet more of the best bands around. Look east, there's something in the water...

Featuring a bristling lineup of real indie "none of this 'backed by a major' bogus indie bollocks!" with double headliners Spraydog and Mos Eisley are from Tyneside, while Norwich's Anglo-Japanese combo Hyper Kinako are probably the UK's favourite J-pop band.

And in the café bar, MCR67 aka Bury Dave, is the evening's DJ proffering a selection of pleasantly pleasing tunes, claiming a range "From northern soul to garage rock via electronica/dub and pop, as long as its got a tune I'll play it" promises the former 'Soundclash customer of the year'.

"Obviously, there's something in the eastern waters" muse Mortal Wombat "all that skill on one bill for just £4.00 in advance or £5.00 on the door - you'd be daft to miss it!" Doors are at 7.30pm.

More information at www.wombatwombat.co.uk. WombatWombat is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. Want more non-London nites out? check our November UK Gig Round-Up article for more regional fun.
