Drowned in Sound Radio launches in 2006 and it's time we told you a little something about it! We also need idents (stings or jingles, if you will) and we want you to conceive and record them!
Regular Drowned in Sound frequenters may remember rumours of Drowned in Sound radio a few months back now, there was conjecture and story-mongering abound as to what form the show would take, who was presenting it and just quite what us DiS mother-hubbards were upto. Well, we're pleased to announce that January 2006 will see the launch of our regular Drowned in Sound Radio show.
Using Podcasting to deliver a twice-monthly hour-long show, DiS Radio will enable us to play you the music we're getting excited about on the site, whilst combining it with special live sessions, interviews, on-location recordings at festivals and conventions as well as a digest of our favourite articles on DrownedinSound.com and some exclusive feature material.
At DiS we're well aware we have a good deal of readers who are musicians themselves and it's in this knowledge that we're asking you, our beautiful public, to put your talents to the test and record us an intro tune (ten seconds) and some two second stings (quick, music-based identity clips) we can use throughout the show.
What your 'jingle' needs to have:
* It must say "Drowned in Sound Radio"
* It must not be offensive
* It must not use copyrighted material (i.e samples)
* It must be submitted in MP3 format
Send your submissions to disradio@googlemail.com and we'll be in touch if we like your work!
