Full Kerrang! Awards & Day Of Rock update

Kerrang! editor Paul Rees will announce the bulk of this year's nominee lists at the annual Kerrang!/Day Of Rock and for the FIRST TIME EVER the Best International Newcomer category will be decided via Channel 4's T4.

Viewers of T4 on August 14th, 18th and 21st will be asked to decide the winner of the Best International Newcomer from the following: American Headcharge ~ Sum 41 ~ The Hives ~ Puddle Of Mudd ~ Jimmy Eat World

The T4/Kerrang! Awards August schedule:

Wednesday 14th - 6.50pm T4 mini show will contain the voting package & the UK exclusive of Eminem's new video.
Sunday 18th - 12.15pm T4 live sunday show will include the voting package within a live studio link.
Wednesday 21th - 6.50pm T4 mini show - the whole show will be about Kerrang! with footage from awards last year as well as voting package.

This is a text and premium phoneline vote and information/phone numbers will also appear on www.kerrang.com from Aug 14.

The Day Of Rock schedule:

As previously reported the rest of the nominations for this year's Kerrang! Awards will be announced at the annual Kerrang!/Virgin Megastore Day Of Rock. This takes place at the flagship Virgin store on Tottenham Court Rd during the afternoon and evening of August 20th.

The Day Of Rock will feature five of the best bands from the Kerrang! stable, including British rock-overlords Reef as headliners. All five bands will perform exclusive live sets and take time out for autograph signing sessions. The table of events looks something like this:

12.30pm InMe live and signing
2.30pm The Kennedy Soundtrack live and signing
5pm The Pattern live and signing
7pm --Kerrang! editor Paul Rees announces Kerrang! Awards nominations--
7.30pm 80's Matchbox B-line Disaster live and signing
8pm --Store closes--
9pm --Store reopens for ticket holders--
10pm Reef live

Tickets for Reef's set will be available via competitions in Kerrang.com (100 pairs will be given away on Wednesday August 14th) and www.Reef.com (ditto) as well as xfm. Nominee packages will appear on digital/Sky channel Kerrang! TV from midnight on August 20th.

Kerrang Award Shows

Garbage are set to play the Kerrang! Awards and Kerrang! Awards live shows to be filmed exclusively for the TV show that goes out on Channel 4 at 11.30pm on August 29th. They join The Offspring on the bill for this event.

The exclusive Jane's Addiction (August 19th - Forum) and Garbage (August 28th & 29th - Camden Electric Ballroom) Kerrang! Awards shows have now sold out - all within 48 hours of being put on sale. Shows with a few tickets left: Custom at the Barfly (20th), The Pattern at the the Garage (20th) Cave In at the Barfly (29th). One more special show will be announced v. soon.

Kerrang! Weekender

Finally, the inaugural Kerrang! Weekender takes place at Camber Sands Holiday Camp on October 4th - 6th. Tickets, costing £59.50 are exclusively available from www.kerrang.com and confirmed are the following additions to the bill:
The Wildhearts will headline Sunday Oct 6th, My Vitriol are special guests to LostProphets on Saturday night and Vex Red and Reuben will also join the bill.

Already announced are: Saturday 5th headliners LostProphets, Jerry Cantrell, Taproot, Glassjaw, Ill Nino, [spunge], Hell Is For Heroes, InMe, The Movielife, Skindred, Audiovent, Blood Brothers, Elviss, Number One Son, Vendetta Red and Violent Delight. More to be added over the coming weeks.
