We don't need to go into all the usual cliches about Icelandic music and the Icelandic people to tell you that we really love Reykjavik as a city. It's not necessary and you're probably more than acutely aware of them yourself. Regardless of this fact we thought we'd bring to you the first instalment of 'Sleepless In Reykjavik', which is a project by Gunnar B. Guðbjörnsson and his brother Hlynur Guðbjörnsson.
The first one features DiS favourite Ólafur Arnalds - including a brief clip, I think, of him drumming in his hardcore band - and a few more acts of similar wonderment. Gunnar says:
"I started the show because I love music. I can't play or sing a note to save my life but I'm good with visuals so this is my contribution to the scene. My brother on the other hand is one of the most talented dubsteb music composers in iceland so I'm pretty lucky - and envious of course. The show is dedicated to all Icelandic music with no emphasis on any specific genre, just good music from wherever it's coming from."
