Rock'n'roll duo Blood Red Shoes have just announced a few 'juicy' little details regarding their new album. Oh yes. The record, their second studio LP, is called Fire Like This and is out March 1, through V2 Records.
It'll be preceded by a single, 'Light It Up' which hits the shelves (both metaphorical and actual) a week before, on February 22. The album was recorded, like the previous one, with Mike Crossey, taking advantage of his Liverpool Motor Museum studio. Overdubs have, apparently, taken a lesser role than in their debut, with everything recorded onto analogue tape, as things are sometimes done in the 21st century.
Of the record, Steve Ansell says:
"We wanted to make a record that's heavier and more adventurous than the first album and ended up with something that feels a lot darker and eerie. It has more complex song structures and intricate guitar parts than before. We really tried to push ourselves as vocalists and not hide behind lots of overdubs, I think because of that it's more personal and more real too."
