Wooden Shjips to release Vol. 2 compilation, tour
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater January 11th, 2010

Rock-out psych-out merchants Wooden Shjips are to release the second in a possibly endless series of records, name Vol. 2, following on from the first in the series, Vol. 1. Easy to get your head around this one, ennit?

They've also just confirmed a handful of dates, including the ATP curated by Pavement, and supporting that very band at Brixton Academy, along with The Clean, Sic Alps and Broken Social Scene.

Here's where they'll be playing. And when.

April:
14 - Cork, Crane Lane
15 - Dublin, Whelan's
17 - Glasgow, Stereo
18 - Leeds, Brudenell Social Club>
19 - London, Bush Hall
20 - Brighton, Freebutt

May:
11 - London, Brixton Academy supporting Pavement
12 - Minehead, ATP curated by Pavement

...and a few more details about that record we were talking about.

The record is a collection of a few tracks from the band's Sub Pop and Mexican Summer releases, complemented by two self-released European tour singles, a track from Yeti Magazine and a bit more, yah, like live tracks. Oh, and it's out March 22, which also happens to be my birthday. PM me for my address, yeah?

Here is the tracklisting:

  1. Loose Lips
  2. Start to Dreaming
  3. Vampire Blues
  4. Death’s Not Your Friend (live)
  5. Contact
  6. I Hear the Vibrations (E-Z version)
  7. Outta My Head
